About Playdays Chellaston

The Story so far..

Playdays first opened at Chellaston Infant School in a small room which only allowed us to be registered for 12 children at a time. We originally started holding four sessions a week quickly building up to ten. Within three years we had outgrown our premises and moved into Chellaston Community Centre. We have been here ever since.

We have a large fenced off garden area where the children can play safely. Children have learned to grow vegetables from seed, look after the garden, harvest the crops and we frequently have cooking and tasting sessions.

We maintain close links with Chellaston Infant School, Homefields Primary School, Chellaston Fields Spencer Academy and Oak Grange Primary. We invite representatives from these schools to many of our activities. We also take the children on school visits just before they leave to start school.
